Scoring is a drawing of a straight groove on a printing item. Scoring is used for subsequent paper folding. This technique allows you to keep the quality of the applied image when bending.

Scoring is carried out using blunt circular knives or rectangular plates on a scoring machine, which presses and compacts the material (facilitating its subsequent bending) with partial breaking of bonds in fibrous materials.
